Steel Frame Buildings
PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
What are steel frame buildings?
Steel frame buildings originated initially in Chicago back in 1885.
Although it could be argued that Ditherington Flax Mill in Shrewsbury was the first true 'iron framed' building. Either way construction as we knew it over 100 years ago was changed forever. This meant that no longer were the walls the main load bearing part of the buildings and instead the steel frame supported the weight of the walls.
